SUBJECT: A touch of national success from the Gavelin' Eagles!

Good afternoon, all,

While the Gavelin' Eagles did not have an official tournament this weekend, three of them (Tamarron Austin, Niejah Davis, and Addyson Salazar) chose to go above and beyond and take part in an extra competitive opportunity: the National Speech & Debate Association's online Springboard Capstone Tournament. Nearly 300 competitors from across the nation and even around the world took part, and one of our own managed to hit the top 5 in his event!

Please join me in congratulating our senior captain Tamarron Austin for ranking 5th in Pro Con Challenge! Tamarron also has enough points and seniority that he was able to judge some of the novices at this tournament, and he took on that responsibility in addition to participating in MESA yesterday. Bravo, Tamarron!

Off to Rio Rancho on Friday for our next official tournament. We are still hurting for judges though. Adults, let us know if you can help out. And kids, spread the word!
